With all that Brisbane has to offer it is experiencing a rapidly expanding population.  There are about 1000 people per week moving to Brisbane to soak up the subtropical lifestyle and as a result, Brisbane is experiencing a few growing pains.

To cope with the anticipated 300 000 new dwellings forecast for the next 20 years, there is a massive new infrastructure program in place.  This includes 500 new buses, a network of busways over, under and through the city, 4 new tunnels and a two new bridges for vehicular traffic, and two pedestrian bridges.  It is pleasing to see Brisbane embracing the river as many other famous cities (Paris, Florence) have done.

 Brisbane is also planning a rapid transit bus service to link the inner city suburbs between Newstead and West End with Brisbane City.  Another new plan to reduce cars in the city is CityCycle which will have 150 public bike parking stations across the city.

On Brisbane’s doorstep you will find Australia’s best theme parks within an hours drive, and the most popular beach holiday coasts to the north (Sunshine coast) and south (Gold Coast).  There are also magnificent walks through the rain forest national parks and a growing wine region.

So whether it is for work, rest or play Brisbane is a great place to stay.
